Gary Penington
Owner

Gary has a long and extensive career that spans all aspects of multi-media and the arts. Gary began his professional career in radio broadcasting. In 1980, Gary started Southwest Video Productions with an emphasis on special event video projects. In 1984, Gary joined Fort Lewis College in Durango as their Media Production Specialist while maintaining Southwest Video Productions as primarily a video deposition company.

In 1996, Gary was selected to be the Managing Director of the new and very modern Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. Here he would spend the next 12 years managing all aspects of the venue including booking and producing over 1,200 productions with an accumulated attendance of over 399,000.

His most recent events in Durango during his 28 year career with Fort Lewis College included The Beach Boys, Charlie Daniels Band, Stephen Stills and Lyle Lovett.

Gary is currently working as an Independent Contractor for Select Artists Associates as a Talent Coordinator on events for the NFL, NHL and Major League Baseball,l as well as many corporate events at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ.

Southwest Video Productions quietly grew in the background expanding services to include training videos, music videos, event video's and many others.

Dan Osby
Post Production and Technology Associate

Dan's initial career path was audio engineering, working for Paramount Studios in Hollywood, California. After honing his skills as a recording engineer, he entered the field of Information Technology, holding senior level positions with numerous companies spanning several industries. Most of this time was spent working in the leadership development and training industry where he played a key role in the development and implementation of training programs and web-based software designed to support executive and enterprise education.

Dan's experience in the training industry helped him gain a strong foundation in instructional design and allowed him to help companies leverage technology to provide state-of-the-art products and services while minimizing costs and overhead through the use of technologies such as video conferencing and online collaboration sites.

Throughout his career in Information Technology, Dan maintained an audio and video recording studio at his home in Durango, Colorado.

Dan and Gary met in 2002 when Dan joined the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College as a part-time live sound engineer. In 2006, Dan started Syncore Media, providing premier multi-media services and consulting including comprehensive video post-production services.

The synergy between Southwest Video Productions and Syncore Media is a natural fit with Gary's extensive video filming and legal video experience and Dan's technology and post-production skills.
